This is the weekly fast pace road ride which will be leaving from Zach's Bikes.
Our typical route will be to do loops at the Running Y, getting there and returning on Lakeshore Ave. with a finish at Rodeo's Pizza. We will be alternating the route with Clockwise loops at Running Y, Counter-clockwise loops at Running Y and Tingley-Cross-Hill road loops.
Tonight's Ride will be the Running Y
*Note* This used to be the Monday night ride but due to changes in ZBikes hours and our employees strong inclination to attend this ride we are moving it to Thursday nights. We realize this conflicts with the Velocascadia series so we will be simply canceling this ride on the nights the Velocascadia happens.
Expect an average of 19 to 23 mph depending on who shows up and the current conditions. Our normal route is designed in such a way that we stop (or slow down) to regroup several times throughout the ride (as we complete loops). While this is intended to be a fast paced hammer-fest ride, we try not to leave anybody behind. A good rule of thumb is that if you get dropped more than twice, plan on finishing the ride on your own. Use it as a carrot on a stick to keep up longer each week if you’re finding yourself off the back regularly.
Lilly will be leading an intermediate paced ride on this day. If you want to start out with the fast group then fall back to the intermediate group that's a great way to push yourself. Please email (lillian.zbikes@gmail.com) her if you plan on attending this pace as she may do her own ride if attendance wanes.
Please bring water, flat kits and lights (remember: a helmet might reduce your chance of injury, but a rear blinky light will prevent a crash all-together). Also Make sure you know the route well enough to get home. These routes were intentionally picked with the ease of bail-out options in mind. Have fun and stay safe!
