Zach's Bikes - Lake of the Woods Gravel Loop

  • Zach's Bikes 831 Main st Klamath Falls OR US (map)

Explore your own backyard! Join us for our first gravel ride up to Lake of the Woods for lunch then back home.

We will meet at Zach's Bikes at 8:30am and leave by 9:00 am. This will be a fairly advanced ride at a moderate pace. We will take the shuttle up to the 16 mile marker on Clover Creek, at the intersection of Buck Lake rd. After getting on the bikes we will head north along Aspen Lake. We will join Hwy 140 for about 2 miles then turn onto Tomahawk NF-3637, Then join NF-3610 headed west. This will put us onto Dead Indian Memorial Hwy which will take us to Lake of the Woods for some AMAZING food. As well as the opportunity to refill the water bottles. This is the half way point in the ride, and marks a change in the terrain. While the ride to Lake of the Woods was on very good gravel roads. The return trip has a few more primitive portions of road to navigate, thrown into a bunch of great gravel roads with some amazing views of Mt Shasta. For the most part we will be near Clover Creek rd. Which makes for a convenient bail-out option if needed. Following Spencer Creek will take us back to the shuttle van. And the relaxing ride back to the bike shop.

Expect to spend a whole day for this adventure, at about 6 hours in the saddle, plus breaks.
